Hostgator is a leading provider of Shared, Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated web hosting.
- Shared Hosting: this the most basic and cheapest option for beginners. You share the resources with other websites on a single server.
- Reseller Hosting: you can buy a large amount of space and bandwidth and sell it to other businesses or small websites.
- VPS Hosting: VPS stands for Virtual Private Server, it is one step above the shared hosting. The number of websites you are sharing the resources with less than the number of websites in the shared hosting.
- Dedicated Hosting: you will get your own server with dedicated hosting. However, this is the most expensive hosting option.
Creating Your Hosting account In Hostgator
In this guide, you will learn how you can create a shared hosting account in Hostgator.
Head over to Hostgator and select shared hosting from the hosting menu.
Select the plan you need from the three options you have; Hatchling, baby, and business plans. If you only going to build one website, select the Hatchling plan. But, the Baby plan is the one we recommend as you can build an unlimited website.
Click on Buy now, select the option you need to register a domain, or you already have one. If you want to register one, type on the search bar to check availability. Choose your plan and billing cycle. But, keep in mind that you should select at least a 12-month billing cycle to get the free domain.
Fill in your account details, email address, password, and security pin.
Next, fill in your name, address, and payment details.
Finally, tick any additional services you need. In fact, we recommend unselecting all additional services when you are registering, as you can add those in the future if you need any.
Check the total amount and click on the Checkout Now button.
Logging in to Hostgator Portal
You will receive an email with all the details you need.
Go to Hostgator, Sign In and select Portal to sign in to your Hostgator portal. Of course, you need to login to cPanel to manage your website and WordPress installation.
Click on the Orange Launch cPanel button to launch cPanel, it will launch and login to your cPanel.
